Door Protection Plates for protecting your doors from scuffs and dirty marks.

Cookson Hardware can provide you with your door protection plates. We stock four basic sizes of satin aluminium kick plates and finger push plates in SAA, polished brass, satin stainless steel and polished stainless steel, all available to buy online or collect from our warehouse in Stockport, near Manchester.

Kick plates are commonly found throughout corridors in commercial and public buildings. The plate is screwed to the bottom of the door to prevent damage from through traffic.
Most kick plates are manufactured specially to site measurements ensuring an accurate fit, although we stock the basic sizes to cater for jobs where speed of delivery is of the essence.
Kick plates can be manufactured in a variety of materials and thickness. Aluminium and stainless steel are the most popular finishes, with brass and coloured pvc also widely used.

Listed below is a quick guide to which grade of stainless steel is the best for kicking plates and architectural hardware.

  • Grade 316 – The most expensive grade offering excellent high corrosion resistance. This grade should be used in coastal areas, and areas of high chlorine such as swimming pools and leisure centres, food preparation areas, hospitals, clinics, surgeries and wet room environments.
  • Grade 304 – This is one of the most commonly used grades suitable for internal and external use. Grade 304 stainless steel is the ideal material for commercial and industrial applications as well as public buildings, schools and universities.
  • Grade 430 – A cost effective contract grade of stainless steel for internal commercial or domestic situations with low foot traffic.
If you wish to order special sizes or would like further information please contact us using the enquiry form or call 0161 480 2388.
