The Union 3R35 Mortice Dead Locking Door Latch has been used in a lot of locations where there is high traffic and a good level of security is required.
Using the key on the outside allows the opening of the lock, from the inside you would use a handle, there is special furniture available for this. On the inside handle at the top is a snip that allows you to hold back the latch if so required. Just above the main latch there is a dead locking snip that when the door is closed the snip gets depressed into the body of the lock and dead locks the main latch. Latchbolt is withdrawn by key from either side and by lever handle from the inside. Door is automatically deadlocked when closed, whilst snib can be used to hold the bolt back when it needs to be left ajar. The operation handle on the inside can be secured by key from either side.

Handing:
This lock is not reversible so handing must be specified. The lock illustrated is a right hand.
The handle sets are not handed as they can be reversed on site.
