BS EN179
This standard covers devices to be used in emergency situations where the people are familiar with the emergency exit and the emergency exit door hardware and therefore a panic situation is unlikely to develop. In this situation door push pad exit devices or lever handle operated escape locks may be used.
BS EN1125
The performance requirement of this standard is to give people a safe and effective escape through a doorway with minimum effort and without prior knowledge of the device. Push bar exit devices and touch bar exit devices conform to this standard.
There are several panic hardware configuration solutions available to suit single door sets, double door sets with either plain or rebated meeting stiles.
